Job Summary: Under the direction of the Park Supervisor, performs a variety of routine duties related to the general care and maintenance of City park facilities. This position is FLSA non-exempt. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Park Supervisor, performs a variety of routine duties related to the general care and maintenance of City park facilities. A. Mows, trims, and irrigates park grounds. B. Paints and repairs tables, benches, and other park equipment. C. Helps collect trash and clean and service restrooms. D. Maintains ball fields and ball-related facilities. E. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Qualifications: A. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. B. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the governing body, city administrators, department heads, employees and the public. C. Ability to use sound judgment and common sense, think logically, and make appropriate decisions. D. Ability to perform manual labor. E. Ability to operate and maintain mowers, trimmers, etc. F. Valid Kansas driver’s license required. Education/Experience: Some experience in general grounds maintenance is preferred. Working Conditions: Work is primarily outside. Work is occasionally heavy and may involve physical activity such as lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, and involves handling, seeing, hearing, listening, and talking. Will involve some after-hour calls, exposure to noise, noxious odors, gases, poor ventilation, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.

Education/Experience: Some experience in general grounds maintenance is preferred.
