POSITION TITLE: ABCC Bright Beginnings Lead Teacher REPORTS TO: ABCC Bright Beginnings Site Director HOURS: Full-time SALARY LEVEL: Based on qualifications BENEFITS: Medical insurance, 401K match, Paid Time Off Apply by sending your resume and a cover letter to [email protected] POSITION SUMMARY: Lead teachers are responsible for providing early childhood education to children infant to five years of age. If you have child care skills and know safety and first aid techniques, you would be a valuable addition to our team of dedicated lead teachers. We need someone like you, who enjoys working in an environment where quickly adapting to changing conditions and rapidly assessing the needs of young students are important and necessary skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans in accordance with the High Scope curriculum, tailored to the developmental maturity and specific needs of students, ensuring alignment with educational requirements. Implement these lessons in a manner that caters to the diverse ages and abilities of all participating students. • Manage a busy classroom environment, and provide the structure and discipline required for successful learning for everyone in the classroom. • Help children meet educational milestones through personalized instruction and other assistance. • Collaborate with other teachers, instructors, and staff members to create an optimal learning and care environment. • Provide helpful feedback to parents and guardians on a regular or as-needed basis. • Work with diverse populations of children and adults from a wide variety of cultural, linguistic, and religious backgrounds. • Address basic interpersonal skills, such as sharing, taking turns, and asking permission in the classroom. • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. • Maintain accurate records, forms and files. • Other duties as assigned, such as resetting the classroom after each day, disinfecting toys regularly, and making sure the classroom is a clean and safe environment. • Maintain strict adherence to confidentiality protocols and policies. • Must be able to meet a stringent background check to ensure regulatory compliance, including but not limited to offenses or crimes against persons or felonies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, or Experience

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education Requirements: Associate’s in Early Childhood Education, and/or CDA Credential Previous experience working with children. Basic knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities. Strong communication skills. Preferred Education Requirements: Master’s or Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or similar. Requirements: • Experience in a child care setting • Ability to develop lesson plans that meet educational standards • Able to accomplish new hire requirements • Provide proof of a negative TB test • Familiarity with classroom management skills • Pass a health assessment • Pass a KBI Background check. • Provide proof of first Aid/CPR training; or willingness to complete • Must be 18 year or older • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds • Must be willing to complete the appropriate trainings for the job within 30 days of starting. • Follow and implement all center policies and procedures on a daily basis • Ability to work well with others (staff, children, teen parents, and grandparents) and to foster a team environment.
